After graduating from university or college, we are led to believe that we’ll immediately find the dream job we studied so hard for in the past four years. But for those of us who have reached that stage in life, we know that’s not often the fate for many graduates. This is a harsh lesson in reality that aspiring poet Amy (Emma Roberts) is about to learn in the first trailer for Scott Coffey‘s indie comedy “Adult World.”
Co-starring Evan Peters (Roberts’ fiance and “American Horror Story” co-star) and John Cusack, “Adult World” follows Amy as she pursues her dreams of literary fame under the guidance of a poet (Cusack) she idolizes. Sounds like she’s on the right path, right? Well, rather than obtaining the instant fame she had hoped for, Amy finds herself $90,000 in debt and working in a sex toy shop in Syracuse. You gotta pay your dues somehow! But along the way, she does find romance with the store’s manager (Peters). So, perhaps it’s not that bad after all.
“Adult World,” which debuted last April at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, will head to theaters and VOD on February 14. Check out the film’s first trailer below!
